If you are ready to apply, here's how it works

Choose your state and school from the selections (to the right). At that point, you will simply fill out the online application provided by the Academic Answer servicing partner, AES. Be sure to have your contact information, Social Security number, driver's license, and two references not living with you on hand before you begin. Completion takes about 15 minutes.

School certification

If you are credit approved¹, a school certification request will be sent to your school. When certifying a loan, the financial aid office will verify you are eligible for the loan amount requested. Your funds will be sent directly to the financial aid office to be applied to your account.

Please Note: SunTrust recommends you exhaust all financial aid alternatives including grants, scholarships, and federal loans (Stafford, PLUS and Grad PLUS), prior to applying for private student loans, such as the Academic Answer Loan.
